Evergreen Native Plant Database was developed principally to provide information on native Canadian wildflowers, but species overlap significantly extends its useful range! Particularly noteworthy on the site are lesson plans for K-12 students on native plants, as found outside in nature. Lessons include full class plans, including comments for instructors, quizzes, and work sheets (in PDF and web format), that appear to be easy to adapt for many purposes and are listed by grade.

The Atlas of Canada site has a wealth of online maps of Canada and the larger world, with political, relief and outline maps, as a beginning. Data maps include parameters of Canadian life, social characteristics, historical info, climatic and ecological data and more, with over twenty different types of maps

The University of Alberta, Devonian Botanic Garden, Canada. The Devonian Botanic Garden, established in 1959 by the University of Alberta, includes an authentic Japanese garden, a tropical butterfly house, attractive floral gardens, collections of native and alpine plants and ecological reserves, situated within an attractive rolling landscape of pine trees and large ponds. Connected gardens extend over 80 acres with an additional 110 acres of natural area for visitors to enjoy.

University of British Columbia Botanical Garden, Vancouver, B.C.,Canada. Perched on the cliffs of Point Grey overlooking the Strait of Georgia, the UBC Botanical Garden is a superb place to visit at any time of year. Seventy acres, planted with over 10,000 different trees, shrubs and flowers, are presented in the Alpine Garden, Asian Garden, Winter Garden, B.C.Native Garden, Physick Garden, Food Garden and Perennial Borders. A true botanical garden, it is designed primarily for education and research, with emphasis on its diverse collections and seasonal displays.
