of ornamental gingers that have beautiful flowers. Our interest is in
the 100 or so species we have found in literature that are used by
people as food, spice and medicine.

All About Gingers These
pages are dedicated to the ornamental cultivation of plants from the
families Zingiberaceae and Costaceae, commonly known as "gingers".
Gingers are wonderful garden plants for the Southern United States and
other parts of the world with warm humid climates. Many can also be
grown in pots, lifted and overwintered indoors, or grown in
conservatories in areas where the winter temperatures are too cold for
year round outdoor ginger growing.
